Mobile Launches Project Portal, Adds LGBTQ+ Liaisons

MOBILE, Ala. — The City of Mobile has launched an “Active Projects Dashboard,” what Mayor Sandy Stimpson calls a “first of its kind.” It allows citizens to track the details, location, status and cost of active projects the city is undertaking. The dashboard can also sort projects by status, type, council district and funding year. The goal, Stimpson said, is for the tool “to provide greater transparency into how we are utilizing the public dollars entrusted to us.”
Also, Stimpson recently announced the appointment of Michael Tyner and Natalie Fox as the city’s first LGBTQ+ liaisons. In their volunteer roles, Stimpson said, Tyner and Fox will work directly with his administration to provide an LGBTQ+ perspective on city policies and services. “They will also serve as an important voice for the community—working with advocacy groups, businesses and individuals to relay concerns from LGBTQ+ Mobilians directly to our office,” he added.
