Mobile Releases Annual Financial Report For Citizens

The City of Mobile recently released its 2022 Popular Annual Financial Report, which is intended to help citizens better understand city finances and how their taxes are being managed. The 20-page document is a concise summary of the full 245-pagefinancial report. Its data show a strong overall financial outlook, anticipating that the mayor and city council will determine how and when surplus funds will be deployed into pending capital projects. In the last fiscal year, which ended in September 20, 2022, the city continued to see a return to normal after two years largely shaped by the pandemic. “Once again, the city’s revenues exceeded our budget, and our expenses came in under our projection,” Mayor Sandy Stimpson explained, adding that “the city continued to move millions of dollars in capital projects forward, while also paying down debt.”
