Mobile Releases Popular Annual Financial Report

The City of Mobile recently released its 2023 Popular Annual Financial Report, which is intended to help citizens better understand city finances and how their taxes are being managed. The 20-page document is a concise summary of the full 262-page financial report. Its data show a strong financial outlook as the city continues to pay down debt and streamline its revenues and assets. During the period that ended on September 30, 2023, Mobile became the second-largest city in Alabama following a mostly successful annexation campaign in West Mobile. Thanks to new attractions like the Africatown Heritage House and Carnival Spirit, Mobile also welcomed 3.4 million visitors to the city last year, bringing an additional $1.8 billion to its economy.
