Mobile To Add EV Charging Stations

Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson recently announced that the city will be using a grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) to add two additional charging units. ADECA’s Alabama Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Infrastructure Program is providing the city with just over $350,000 to install a pair of Universal EV chargers at the Homewood Suites on the Interstate 65 Service Road near Cottage Hill Road. There are currently 89 public EV charging stations in Mobile, including eight free stations and 16 fast-charging stations.
