Mobile To Build Third Recycling Dropoff Center

MOBILE, Ala. — The City of Mobile has received a $340,000 grant from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. Mayor Sandy Stimpson said the money “will establish a third recycling dropoff center and help us examine the feasibility of additional recycling services in the future.” The grant was based on data collected during a survey held last fall that showed the main reason for locals not recycling was the lack of convenient locations and information about where they can recycle. The funds will also help expand efforts to educate citizens about the benefits of recycling and better inform the public about the services offered by Mobile, Mobile County and private recycling services in the area.
