More Than $100,000 Donated Toward Mobile Housing

MOBILE, Ala. — The Downtown Mobile Alliance’s Downtown Lowdown reported that the Oakleigh Venture Revolving Fund (OVRF), part of the City of Mobile government that works closely with city officials in tackling various problems facing the neighborhood, donated more than $100,000 to Main Street Mobile‘s land bank. OVRF president David Sanders presented the check to Main Street to create the Palmer Clarkson Hamilton Revolving Fund, in honor of the man whose efforts to create the OVRF more than 30 years ago resulted in the renovation of an entire swath of homes in Mobile’s historic neighborhoods. The new fund will focus on creating housing in Downtown Mobile.
