MPD Citizens Academy Application Period Opens

The Mobile Police Department’s (MPD)C251: Citizens Academy is taking applications for its fall program through September 4. Running between September 16 and October 21, the academy gives citizens an up-close look at what officers do, how they’re trained and the tools they use. Topics include crime scenes, traffic operations, bomb detail and crime prevention. Applicants who meet the requirements of being at least 21 years old, having no significant arrest history, having a valid driver’s license and passing a background check will be admitted on a first- come, first-serve basis. While the program is free, space is limited to 50 participants.
