Orange Beach Fire Rescue Earns Top ISO Rating, CAAS Designation

Orange Beach Fire Rescue has received the highest rating for a fire department, placing it among the top 1% of all fire departments in the nation, in addition to a “gold standard” designation in the ambulance industry through the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS), Orange Beach announced. The department was awarded a Class 1 designation by the Insurance Services Office’s (ISO) Public Protection Classification (PPC) program. This rating signifies that the City of Orange Beach has a superior fire-suppression program at the fire department and is well-prepared to respond to fires. ISO analyzes the relevant data and assigns a PPC grade, a number ranging from one to 10. CAAS accreditation involves a comprehensive evaluation of every component of emergency medical transport services, from how incidents are received through 911 to policies, procedures, training, equipment, patient care and documentation.
