Prichard Approves Entertainment District

Prichard has approved its own entertainment district, WKRG reports. To stretch through parts of Love Joy Loop, Rebel Road and South Craft Highway, the district is expected to bring new restaurants, activities and events for all ages. Tim Hale, Jr., owner of local Flavas Bar and Lounge on Wilson Avenue, said the designation would not only benefit new businesses, but would also bring more people and revenue to existing businesses in the area. “I would like to see a lot of food eateries, entertainment; I would like to even see a drive-thru movie theater,” he added. The next step for the city is to tackle the district’s design and ensure its plan meets legal requirements.
