Revised Semmes City Hall Plans Unveiled

The Semmes City Council uncovered their revised plans for a new City Hall Complex, Call News reports. The plans reflect the new administration’s desire for a smaller building and change of venue, in addition to making it part of a downtown hub. Though 8,000-9,000 ft2 smaller than the former plan, it will include a council chamber, and business and permitting offices. Sawgrass Consulting, LLC of Spanish Fort is performing engineering and other services related to design, development, procurement and construction. “We’re looking at advertisement in April and bid opening in May,” Public Works Director Jason Franklin said. A town hall meeting to give citizens more details is planned for April 15 at 3-7 p.m. at the Semmes Community Center.
