Second Africatown Welcome Center Meeting Coming Up

TheCity of Mobile will host the second public meeting to gather input from the community about the design of the future Africatown Welcome Center on May 25 at 6 p.m. As part of the design contract led byMott MacDonald, the meeting will be held at the Robert Hope Community Center at 850 Edwards Street. Once completed, the facility will serve as a central hub for future historical and cultural tourism sites that will help share the story of Africatown. This meeting will showcase several examples of floor plans, as well as models showing what the general shape, form, size, color and appearance of the building could be.
