Second Contractor’s College Graduation Held

MOBILE, Ala — The City of Mobile’s Office of Supplier Diversity announced that it celebrated a milestone with the second class of Mobile’s Contractor’s College, launched in 2021 as a partnership with the Mobile and Bishop State Community College. Its goals are to help small businesses and entrepreneurs learn how to compete for and successfully execute contracts with public agencies; level the playing field by teaching younger, smaller companies how to submit bids and manage contracts; and increase the pool of contractors competing to work with governmental agencies like the city. Last week, 10 entrepreneurs graduated with established small businesses that range from foundation and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning work to trucking, construction, education and human resources.
