Spanish Fort Survey Open For Park Master Plan

The City of Spanish Fort is hosting a survey on the future Honor Park, which is to be built on approximately 142 acres formerly known as Cypress Point along Highway 225 in the city limits. The city plans to construct a public recreation nature park in a unique hardwood forested and riparian ecosystem that no longer exists in such magnitude within the city limits. “By offering residents and visitors a chance to commune with nature in a way that isn’t readily available at other sites, the city will be creating healthy recreational opportunities that will educate them to this valuable ecosystem,” Spanish Fort said. Recreational and educational options in the survey include a disc golf course, playground, nature trails, a kayak/canoe launch, fishing piers, outdoor classrooms, a waterfront boardwalk, food truck festivals and an educational nature center.
