Stimpson Appoints Four Leaders
MOBILE, Ala. — Four key positions within the leadership team at the City of Mobile were recently filled through appointments by Mayor Sandy Stimpson, the city announced. Robert Bryant, director of the department of animal services, spent more than a decade working with the Montgomery Humane Society, most recently as chief humane officer. Keysha Brown, director of community affairs and city council liaison, has been working with Stimpson’s administration as a liaison to the Mobile City Council since November 2021. She will continue serving in that role, while leading the newly created department of community affairs. Marc Vassallo, director of public services, oversees five major sub-departments, including fleet management, sanitation, urban forestry, public services maintenance and administration. Vassallo previously served in the U.S. Air Force as a deputy commander for maintenance, managing hundreds of airmen and millions of dollars in budgets and assets. Finally, Jayson D’Alessandro, director of the office of strategic initiatives, has worked with many global brands to develop in-store fixtures. In 2015, he took on the senior design position with the Bloomberg Innovation Team and City of Mobile to develop citywide solutions using design thinking and human-centered design methodologies, which, over seven years, he transformed into an official city department.
