Wave Transit to Get Nine Buses

Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson revealed further details on the WAVE Transit System’s fleet this week. Of the nine new buses expected to be on the road by next summer, one will be dedicated to serving Downtown Mobile. The MODA! downtown circulator service has a fixed route that runs through the entertainment district and along Dauphin Street with more than a dozen stops in key areas of downtown circulating every 20 min. on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is to get an upgrade later this year with a 29-ft-long, 27-passenger bus with improved wheelchair accessibility.
