Infirmary Cancer Care Launches Multidisciplinary Clinic

Infirmary Cancer Care, an affiliate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham O’Neal Cancer Center, has launched a multidisciplinary clinic to provide same-day advanced care for patients. The first of its kind on the Gulf Coast, the multidisciplinary clinic delivers comprehensive patient care through multiple specialty clinics, including for patients seeking breast cancer care. Through a team-based approach, specialists will provide a coordinated process from diagnosis to treatment. The goal is to reduce delays and provide patients with a plan for care offered on the same day. Dr. Caroline McGugin, breast surgeon at Infirmary Cancer Care, spearheaded the opening of the multidisciplinary clinic. The multidisciplinary clinic is located inside Mobile Infirmary on the third floor at 3 Mobile Infirmary Circle in Mobile.
