Infirmary Earns Approval, Certification

MOBILE, Ala. — Mobile Infirmary has earned The Joint Commission’s (TJC) Gold Seal of Approval and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check Mark for Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center (TSC) certification. The hospital said it met rigorous standards for performing endovascular thrombectomy and demonstrating continuous compliance with TJC standards. The TSC certification is reflective of safety, quality and efficiency for stroke-related diagnoses. In the last year, Mobile Infirmary has hired neuro-interventionalist Dr. John Andrew Cox. In partnership with Dr. Roger Tart, interventional radiologist, the hospital began providing 24/7 thrombectomy coverage in August 2021. That same month, with the support of the E.A. Roberts Foundation, Mobile Infirmary added a Philips Biplane Angiography System, technology that helps accelerate stroke diagnosis and treatment.
