Infirmary Health Pharmacy Named Center Of Excellence

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) approved Infirmary Health as an ASHP Certified Center of Excellence in Medication-Use Safety and Pharmacy Practice. The pharmacy program is the first in Alabama to earn this certification, according to ASHP. The certification is given to healthcare organizations who are demonstrating high-quality pharmacy services and patient care. Trey Gwin, a registered pharmacist and medication safety coordinator at Infirmary Health, led the team in achieving the certification following a process lasting nearly a year. Infirmary Health has consistently grown its pharmacy program from retail and home infusion pharmacy to infusion centers and medication therapy management programs.
