Infirmary Health’s Cain Named CPEL

Lee Ann Cain, chief operating officer of Thomas Hospital and vice president of pharmacy services for Infirmary Health, has recently earned the Certified Pharmacy Executive Leader (CPEL) credential from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. The credential is nationally recognized and demonstrates advanced leadership skills including strategic leadership and purpose-driven vision; talent development and workforce leadership; executive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; and agility, innovation and change management within complex health systems. To receive the credential, candidates completed a competitive review process. Launched in 2022 and the first of its kind in pharmacy leadership, the CPEL credential acknowledges the unique expertise of pharmacy executive leaders. To be recognized, pharmacists must have a minimum of five years of progressive and sustained executive leadership experience in a healthcare organization, leading the organization’s decisions involving operations, policies, programs and services.
