Local Physician Voted To National Vice Speaker Role

Dr. Melissa W. Costello, an emergency physician with Baldwin Emergency Physicians, an affiliate of Infirmary Health, was recently elected to serve as the vice speaker of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Council. Costello was elected to this position by her peers within ACEP, which is the largest representative of emergency physicians in the U.S. with more than 38,000 members. Founded in 1968 by a small group of physicians who shared a commitment to improving the quality of emergency care, ACEP educates and trains physicians in emergency medicine to provide quality emergency care in hospitals across America. Costello will serve in the vice speaker role for the next two years and represent physicians from all 50 states.
