MCHD Adds Mobile Medical Unit

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. — The Mobile County Health Department (MCHD) recently added a mobile medical trailer called the “Public Health Response Unit” to its services. The trailer is a 2022 ATC Quest Custom Medical Trailer and is the first of two identical units. The second trailer is to arrive later this year. The unit was secured with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases funds that were passed through the Alabama Department of Public Health to MCHD. The mobile medical trailer was purchased for the COVID-19 Response Team to provide testing and vaccination services within Mobile County and will be placed at outlying clinics. The administered services will be provided without appointment. The unit will be at the Semmes Health Center at 3810 Wulff Road East with vaccines available each Friday at 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The mobile medical trailer is equipped with a 7-kW generator, dual air conditioners, rear glass doors, a walk-up ramp and an exterior awning.
