Mobile Infirmary Earns Joint Commission Certification For Spinal Surgery

 The Spine Institute at Mobile Infirmary, part of the Infirmary Health Neuroscience Center of Excellence, has earned The Joint Commission’s Core Certification for Spinal Surgery. This prestigious certification recognizes Mobile Infirmary’s commitment to meeting rigorous standards in spinal surgery as set by The Joint Commission. During the visit, the commission evaluated Mobile Infirmary on its coordination of care within its spine programs and its high standards for treating surgical spinal patients. The certification process assessed Mobile Infirmary on several key factors, including safe and accessible facilities, patient-specific therapies, patient outcome data, evidence-based interventions, staff and patient education and the patient’s involvement in care decisions. The infirmary said the survey highlighted the strong dedication of the leaders and staff across various departments, including nursing, preoperative care, the operating room, the postanesthesia care unit, rehabilitation and outpatient clinics.
