NBI Receives Designations For Women’s Care

North Baldwin Infirmary (NBI), an affiliate of Infirmary Health, has received a 2024 Women’s Choice Award for obstetrics. The award signifies that NBI is in the top 13% of the 4,728 U.S. hospitals offering labor and delivery services. The Women’s Choice Award aims to educate all women on where to receive the best care and focuses its research on hospitals that provide the highest-quality patient experience. With this being especially important for potential labor complications, the birth center at NBI is one of only eight facilities dubbed “Baby-Friendly” in the state of Alabama. According to Baby-Friendly USA, Inc., this designation is earned when hospitals are assessed and successfully exhibit implementation of the World Health Organization’s “Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding in the U.S.,” and “International Code of Marketing of Breast-Milk Substitutes” and demonstrate widespread understanding of and enthusiasm for best practices for infant feeding care.
