Providence Hospital Performs First Robotic Surgery Case

Ascension Providence in Mobile announced on Facebook that Dr. Rob Wood, obstetrician/gynecologist, recently performed the first case using the hospital’s new da Vinci Xi robotic surgery technology. The robotic system will be used at Providence for a variety of complex, minimally invasive surgeries in the areas of gynecology, urology, colorectal and general surgery.
