Saraland Surgery Center Holds Open House

Infirmary Health recently welcomed community members to the new Saraland Surgery Center for an open house. Guests were able to tour the advanced facility, meet the surgical teams and get an up-close look at the innovative da Vinci Surgical Robot. The facility is the first outpatient surgery center in Alabama to utilize the da Vinci robot onsite for general surgery. The robot allows doctors to perform minimally invasive procedures controlled by the surgeon, which leads to better precision and faster recovery for patients. After completing its first procedures in June, the center marked another milestone in July when Dr. Clayton Lane of Gulf Orthopaedics performed the center’s inaugural specialty surgery. The center provides procedures including orthopedic surgery, general surgery, pain management, and gastroenterology. Future services include plastic; ear, nose and throat; and ophthalmologic surgeries. The center is approximately 23,500 ft2 including four operating rooms and two procedure rooms.
