Springhill Medical Center Hires Vice President/CFO

Springhill Medical Center has announced Stephen E. Fischer as its new vice president/chief financial officer (CFO). Prior to this role, Fischer served as CEO and CFO at Escambia County Health Care Authority in Brewton, Alabama. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American College of Healthcare Executives and Healthcare Financial Management Association. He earned his master’s degree in health services in 2001 from Webster University. Fischer obtained his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ball State University. For more than three decades, Fischer has been responsible for multiple health systems’ strategic financial planning, complex health facility capital growth plans, financial turnarounds, revenue cycle optimizations and information system conversions.
