The Cancer Center Of Mobile Adds Ball

The Cancer Center of Mobile, a division of Urology Associates, has hired Dr. Olivia Claire Ball. Ball is a board-certified radiation oncologist who attended Washington and Lee University, where she received numerous academic distinctions and graduated summa cum laude. She then attended medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) on a dean’s scholarship. During her medical training, Ball was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Society and graduated magna cum laude. She completed residency in radiation oncology at UAB. During residency, Ball received an Intramural Pilot Grant to support her research and first-authored publications in both the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics and Practical Radiation Oncology. She also received the Ben Blackburn Award after scoring in the top 1% nationally on her medical physics exam. Ball is skilled in several advanced radiation techniques, and her practice encompasses a breadth of malignancies, including prostate, breast, head and neck, lung, bladder, skin, sarcoma, gastrointestinal and brain tumors, and lymphoma. She is proficient at ultrasound guided fiducial marker placement, as well as SpaceOAR and Barrigel placement in preparation for prostate radiotherapy.
