Total Knee Replacements Now Offered At Infirmary Health Daphne

Dr. Jay Savage, orthopedic surgeon with Gulf Orthopaedics, performed the first total knee replacement at Infirmary Health’s Daphne Surgery Center. The knee replacement was performed with the assistance of the VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution, a technology that helps surgeons perform knee replacements using data tailored to the patient’s anatomy. Infirmary Health was the first health system in Alabama to use VELYS for total knee replacement. This technology is designed to help ensure predictable results, improve outcomes, increase mobility and help patients recover faster. Daphne Surgery Center, located inside Thomas Medical Center, is a freestanding ambulatory surgery center offering almost 200 different procedures yearly over a wide range of specialties. This includes several minimally invasive procedures such as endoscopy or hysteroscopy.
