USA Health Offering Two-Part Dibetes Class Series

USA Health Endocrine and Diabetes is offering a two-part class series designed to support individuals living with diabetes on the Eastern Shore and surrounding areas. Offered at the USA Health Mapp Campus in Fairhope, the Living Well with Diabetes program was created to provide participants with the tools, understanding, and encouragement needed to better manage their condition and improve their overall quality of life. The first class in the series, offered on the first Tuesday of the month, addresses how to understand diabetes and glucose targets, monitor blood sugar and recognize trends, and prevent and treat high and low glucose. It includes a guide to diabetes medications. The second class, held on the third Tuesday of the month, covers nutrition and carbohydrate counting, physical activity strategies for all fitness levels, reducing risks for diabetes-related complications, managing diabetes distress and building healthy coping skills. A provider referral is required to attend. For more information, contact USA Health Endocrine and Diabetes at phone: 251-660-6300.
