Yin Yang Center Now Open In Mobile

Two local women have teamed up to open Yin Yang Wellness Center, what they say is the first Black women-owned community mental health center in Mobile, NBC15recently reported. The center was opened in May by Afiya K. Hooker and Jo Anna Johnson, who are both licensed professional counselors, certified clinical hypnotherapists and certified clinical trauma professionals. The pair have been offering counseling services at their own practices in Mobile. The center is open to anyone, but they also offer a safe space for African Americans. Its other services include case management, group counseling and even a donation center for giving women and children free clothing, toys, car seats and more. The center is open Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
