Admiral Hotel Undergoing Property-Wide Renovation

The Admiral Hotel in Mobile has begun a property-wide renovation set for completion in early 2024, according to Charleston-based Avocet Hospitality, which purchased the hotel in June 2022 for a reported $21 million, AL.com reports. Additionally, Terell Ham, who has been with Avocet Hospitality since 2014, has been appointed general manager of the hotel and will oversee the renovation. The property’s restaurant, Corner 251, will be closed through the renovation and eventually reopen as an entirely new concept called “Le Moyne’s Chophouse.” The location of Corner 251 will become “the living room” of the hotel and an extension of the lobby, while Le Moyne’s will move into the space of the hotel’s previous restaurant. The new restaurant will be a contemporary chophouse serving high-quality cuts, fresh Gulf of Mexico seafood, wine and cocktails. The Admiral originally opened in 1940 and has 156 guest rooms, an outdoor pool and meeting spaces.
