Dave’s Hot Chicken Expanding Into Alabama, To Reach Local Areas

Dave’s Hot Chicken, a Los Angeles-based street food brand turned fast-casual, announced that it has signed a new franchise agreement with its original franchisees. This group includes business partners Deryl Pangelinan, Tony Moyer, Denise Calette, Andrew Feghali and Lawrence Kourie. After being the first to franchise with Dave’s Hot Chicken in 2020, the group has inked a nine-unit development deal reaching more than 49 counties in Alabama—including Mobile and Baldwin counties, 12 in Florida and eight in Georgia. Founded by Arman Oganesyan, classically trained chef Dave Kopushyan, and brothers Tommy and Gary Rubenyan in early 2017, Dave’s Hot Chicken initially opened as a parking lot popup. The brand now has more than 140 locations in the U.S. and Canada. Specializing in hot chicken tenders and sliders, with spice levels ranging from “No Spice” to “Reaper,” each restaurant also serves sides of housemade kale slaw, macaroni and cheese, crispy fries and cheese fries. Dave’s Hot Chicken offers franchisees a business model, including national and local marketing support, proven systems, manuals and operating procedures, and assistance with site selection.
