Boutique Hotel Planned For Spring Hill

A boutique hotel could soon be coming to the Village of Spring Hill area of Mobile, WPMI reports. Burton Property Group has proposed to build a roughly 87-room hotel on the site of the old Hardeman National Guard Armory near municipal park. The proposal is supported by the board of the Village of Spring Hill. Conditional approval was granted in April by the Board of Zoning Adjustment pending changes to conform with community design standards, among other things. In May, the City of Mobile Planning Commission also granted conditional approval for the rezoning of the property pending, among other things, a traffic impact study. While the property is still owned by the City of Mobile, Burton has had the site under contract since 2023, when the city requested proposals for redevelopment of the property. A public hearing before the Mobile City Council is scheduled for July 15.
