The Pillars Mobile Reopens With New Look

The Pillars Mobile on Government Street recently reopened after a major remodel and has already played host to a public event, WKRG reports. Brother and sister Shelley Gay and Bryant Knight moved back to Mobile and bought the building last summer. The pair then began a major remodeling project for weddings and other events. The aim was to create a visually entertaining event space by blending colorful wallpaper with the original tiles and mixed decor. Built in 1910, The Pillars Mobile has remained a landmark for locals and visitors. The 8,000-ft2 villa is adorned with eight fireplaces, historic Bellingrath tiles and a 150-year-old stained glass window in the atrium.
