Alfa Foundation Awards Scholarships To Locals

The Alfa Foundation has announced the award of $100,000 in scholarships to students attending Alabama colleges, universities and technical schools. Five students from Baldwin County and two from Mobile County are receiving $1,000 each. Those from Baldwin County are Anne Darby Clark, Kellen Lincoln, Chandler Little, Lyndon Trimble and Emma Weatherford. Those from Mobile County are Sarah Claire Hults and Leah Robinson. The funds may be used for tuition, fees, books or supplies in the 2023-2024 academic year. Scholarships were awarded based on grade-point average, participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience and future goals. To qualify, students must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time accredited program at a 2- or 4-year college, university or vocational-technical school in the state. This year, recipients from 44 counties will attend 23 different academic institutions.
