Alfa Foundation Awards Scholarships

The Alfa Foundation has announced the award of $100,000 in scholarships to students attending Alabama colleges, universities and technical schools. Two students from Baldwin County and four from Mobile County are receiving $1,000 each. Those from Baldwin County are Adam Dawson and Joshua Park. Those from Mobile County are Bayleigh Griffin, Victoria Johnson, Katie Sanders and Connor Walsh. The funds may be used for tuition, fees, books or supplies in the 2024-2025 academic year. Scholarships were awarded based on grade-point average, participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience and future goals. To qualify, students must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time accredited program at a 2- or 4-year college, university or vocational-technical school in the state. This year, which marks more than $1 million awarded to students from the foundation since 2014, recipients from 43 counties will attend 29 different academic institutions.
