Gulf Shores’s Hollis Wins NAIFA-Alabama Scholarship

The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of Alabama (NAIFA-Alabama) has announced the winners of its 2026 Image Builder Scholarship. The award is granted annually to graduating high school seniors who demonstrate exceptional academic performance, community leadership and a commitment to their future careers. Among this year’s distinguished group of scholars is Portia Hollis, a senior at Gulf Shores High School. NAIFA-Alabama said Hollis has distinguished herself as a standout leader both in the classroom and the community, adding, “A two-time recipient of the AmeriCorps Presidential Volunteer Service Award and the 2026 Distinguished Young Woman of Baldwin County, Portia’s dedication to service is exemplary.” The other recipients of the 2026 scholarship are Wilmer Gonzalez-Lopez of Auburn High School, Rachel Purnell of Hewitt Trussville High School, Braxton Hudgins of Albertville High School and Rosemary Cochran of Florence High School.
