Higginbotham Buys Lyon Fry Cadden

MOBILE, Ala. — Lyon Fry Cadden Insurance, a Mobile-based independent broker of commercial and personal property and casualty insurance and surety products, has joined Higginbotham, an insurance, financial and human resources (HR) services firm that calls itself the 20th-largest independent broker in the U.S. Higginbotham is strategically growing to expand its footprint and increase its service capability by selectively partnering with other independent agencies that have strong reputations in their local markets, it adds. The move brings it into Alabama; it already had offices in Alabama’s bordering states. Lyon Fry Cadden primarily serves middle-market businesses. The agency can now offer employee benefits, HR services and additional specialty services. Higginbotham named Lyon Fry Cadden President Gaylord Lyon, Jr., a Higginbotham managing director. He will continue overseeing Lyon Fry Cadden’s operations and its 30-person team.
