Local Business Creates Wine App

Mobile resident Gary Campbell is founder and CEO of the WineView App, which was recently featured on Hypepotamus. WineView is designed to use augmented reality to help people pick a wine while in the grocery store. Campbell, who works alongside two other cofounders, Chief Operations Officer Angela Grace Caine and Chief Technology Officer Chris Sterling, was inspired to create WineView during a visit to a California vineyard last year. Though available now on the App Store,  WineView is to eventually have a question-based feature, in which users will be asked if the wine is for a food pairing or a tasting. They will then be given a series of choices to narrow their options. Next, the user can move their phone screen around, and the app will select four or five appropriate bottles. Vineyards, wineries and distributors can also partner with WineView. The next step is to scale WineView. The team opened up its seed round at the beginning of March 2021.
