Optimist Club Hosting First Qualifying Golf Event

The Optimist Club of Alabama/Mississippi is hosting the first-ever Qualifying Tournament at GlenLakes Golf Club in Foley on June 10. This is a one-day event, and a limited number of qualifiers will advance to the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship in Doral/Miami, Florida. Each year, approximately 600 junior golfers ages 10 to 18 travel from around the world to play in the championship, and many PGA Tour players have participated in this event as junior golfers. The Optimist Club will help with financial assistance to qualifiers from the local event.
