Rowland, Dalby Coming to Haunted Book Shop

The Haunted Book Shop in Mobile is hosting an afternoon of storytelling and historical insight on June 22 beginning at 4 p.m. Mobile Police Capt. Billie L. Rowland will present his debut book, Unbroken Service: A History of the Mobile Police Department. He will be joined by Southern gothic author Carrie Dalby, who is releasing Betrayal: Washington Square Secrets 4. Rowland’s historical overview of the Mobile Police Department covers more than two centuries of law enforcement history in Mobile, beginning in its early days in 1814. Dalby delves into the dramatic conclusion of her Washington Square Secrets series. Set in the sweltering summer of 1927, this novel paints a vivid picture of Mobile during a tumultuous period of civil unrest. The authors will discuss how their collective research informed their writing and helped bring it to life. A book signing will follow the authors’ talk. Those wanting to enter the signing line must have purchased a book from The Haunted Book Shop.
