SALT Talks On Funding Coming Up

The South Alabama Land Trust (SALT) is holding a free presentation by nationally recognized leaders in environmental economics to explore how to quantify the economic benefits of natural land on June 24 at 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Dahlgren Hall at Coastal Alabama Community College’s Fairhope campus. SALT says that, as conservation delivers real economic value to our communities in terms of stormwater management, resiliency, clean water and protecting the natural resources that drive the region’s tourism industry, funding those ecosystem services can help with regional planning and prioritizing land for conservation. Carson Risner, senior research analyst, and Angela Fletcher, tools and data manager and senior researcher, both of Earth Economics, will speak on “Nature’s Value: The Economic Case for Land Conservation.” Seating is limited, so those planning to attend are asked to RSVP here.
