Bucci Sworn In As District Court Judge In Newly Created Seat

In a ceremony held on January 10, Judge Johana Bucci was officially sworn in as a District Court Judge for Alabama’s 13th Judicial Circuit. Judge Bucci fills Place 6 on the District Court bench, a new seat the Alabama Legislature created for Mobile County. The investiture was held in the ceremonial courtroom of Government Plaza. Presiding Circuit Court Judge Wesley Pipes officiated the ceremony, and Circuit Court Judge Jill Phillips administered the oath of office, marking the formal beginning of Bucci’s tenure on the bench. After taking her oath, Bucci addressed the audience, saying, “I am deeply humbled by the trust placed in me by the people of Mobile County to hold this position.” She aims to focus on ensuring fairness in the courtroom and building trust in the justice system.
