Daphne Municipal Judge To Run For New District Court Judgeship

Daphne Municipal Judge Michael Hoyt has announced he will seek the Republican nomination for District Court Judge Place 3 in the upcoming primary election. The position is the new district court judgeship approved for Baldwin County by the Alabama legislature earlier this year. For more than a decade, Hoyt has served as the City of Daphne’s municipal court judge presiding over more than 3,000 cases each year. He also serves as a municipal prosecutor for the City of Foley and is a managing partner of Harbison & Hoyt, the Silverhill law firm he cofounded 17 years ago. A 1996 graduate of Daphne High School, Hoyt was also honored by his alma mater in the Daphne High School Hall of Fame in 2014 for Outstanding Community Achievement. He attained a BA in public administration from Auburn University. He earned his law degree with honors from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The primary election is set for March 5, 2024.
