Master Boat Builders Delivers First Of Eight Tugboats

Representatives from Master Boat Builders, Inc. of Coden and partners from Maritime Partners, LLC of Metairie, Louisiana, recently gathered to christen Marauder, the first tugboat in an eight vessel-construction program, at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf in Mobile. More than a ceremonial milestone, the christening marks the transition from construction to service. Marauder is 88 ft long and is classified as an A1 Escort Tug and Towing Vessel. The vessel carries Automated Machinery System certification, Underwater Inspection in Lieu of Drydocking certification and FFV1 firefighting capability. It is also designated a low-emissions vessel under U.S. standards. With delivery complete, Marauder will enter Maritime Partners’ fleet in supporting operations across towing, escort and marine support services.
