Mobile Beverage Distributor Acquires Huntsville Counterpart

Mobile-based Gulf Distributing has acquired the operating assets of Huntsville-based Supreme Beverage Co., AL.com recently reported. Gulf now reaches 62 of Alabama’s 67 counties, up from 44. Supreme Beverage will be operated as Gulf Distributing Co. of Alabama, a wholly owned subsidiary of Gulf Distributing Holdings. Gulf calls itself “the oldest beverage distributor in the Southeast” and has seen steady growth for several years, having acquired Montgomery-based Allstate Beverage Co. in 2009. Adding Supreme’s 200 employees brings its total to 1,200, who handle 23.4 million beverage cases per year.
