Navy Exercises Option With Austal For LCS
MOBILE, Ala. — Mobile-based Austal USA has been awarded an $11,424,232 cost-plus-fixed-fee and cost-only modification to exercise an option for littoral combat ship (LCS) industrial post-delivery availability support for USS Augusta, Defense Daily reports. Ninety percent of the work, expected to be completed by September 2023, will be performed in Mobile. These efforts contracted by the U.S. Navy consist of dry docking, continuous maintenance, emergent maintenance, ship assessments, preventive/planned maintenance, facilities maintenance and corrosion control.
