Novelis To Break Ground

Sustainable aluminum rolling and recycling provider Novelis Inc. has announced it will break ground on its new $2.5-billion low-carbon recycling and rolling plant in Bay Minette on October 7 at 9 a.m. Gov. Kay Ivey will join federal, state and local officials and Novelis President and CEO Steve Fisher and Novelis North America President Tom Boney to commemorate the event. The company said the 1,000-employee facility will be the first fully integrated aluminum mill built in the U.S. in 40 years. More than half of the capacity of the new facility will be used to serve growing demand for aluminum beverage can sheet metal in North America (BBN #93).
