Saunders Yachtworks Certified Clean, Resilient

Saunders Yachtworks, which has locations in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, has the first facility in Alabama to earn the Gulf of Mexico Alliance (GOMA) Clean & Resilient Marina certification, according to the Alabama Coastal Foundation. GOMA explains the certification as proof of compliance with this “improved program [that] complements Clean Marina practices already in place and provides additional recommendations to strengthen local marinas’ ability to withstand natural and man-made disasters.” It follows GOMA’s Clean & Resilient Marina Guidebook, a three-document set that provides marina owners and operators with useful information on tools and recommended practices. The guidebook calls for the promotion and expansion of resilient and environmentally responsible operations and best management practices at marinas.
