$210-Million Sawmill Investment For Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. — Vancouver-based Canfor Corp. will invest $210 million to build a sawmill complex to replace an existing facility in Mobile, Business Alabama reports. The new sawmill is to have an annual production capacity of 250 million board feet and provide a more modern work environment for its 130 employees. “In addition, the facility’s versatility and flexibility will enhance our ability to more closely align our production of high-quality products with market demand,” Don Kayne, president and CEO of Canfor, added. Startup of the facility is anticipated in the third quarter of 2024.
